Composites network’s successful presence at world’s leading fair
Carbon Composites (CCeV) presented one of the largest stands at this year’s JEC Show in Paris, the world’s leading fair for composite technologies. Seventeen companies – including LMT – came together under the network’s banner to demonstrate their extensive know-how in many different areas to JEC visitors. LMT tool specialists emphasized the important role that tools can play in the efficient serial production of composite components.

The high-volume production of composite components is becoming increasingly important ever since major car-makers began making greater use of these strong and light materials. Was this trend noticeable at the JEC Show? “Very definitely,” confirms Martin Danielczick of LMT Tool Systems. “From the perspective of a precision tool manufacturer it was more than noticeable. In the last few years JEC visitors have tended to be interested in general questions – for example, whether it was at all possible to realize a specific application. This year, however, there was a stronger focus on the efficiency of the entire process. Of course, that also involved concrete questions – relating, for example, to tool life, cutting speeds and machining quality. Thanks to our many years of experience, this is precisely where we are able to advise potential customers on the basis of concrete reference projects.”
Record-breaking show
Overall, the leading industry fair in Paris set new records. Nearly 30,000 visitors represented an almost 10% increase in attendance compared to last year. The change in exhibitor numbers was equally positive: 1,100 companies and associations from some 100 countries took part in the JEC Show at the end of March.
