EMO 2011: Experience Performance

Faster, more efficient, more flexible – increasing demands are being made when it comes to the machining of modern production materials. At EMO 2011 the companies of the LMT Group demonstrated numerous ways of raising the productivity of existing production processes. The fair review looks back at six successfull fair days (German only).

A class of its own - Gear hobbing with LMT SpeedCore

Up to 250 million gear hobs are being produced in Germany per annum. Gear hobbing is an essential key technique. The recording of the presentation by IFQ of the University of Magdeburg demonstrates the advantages of the new LMT cutting material called SpeedCore.

Robots optimize CFRP finishing

“The future is lightweight” is an essential topic not only in the industry. Composite materials like CFRP are on the threshold of being used in mass production. Watch the recording of a CFRP finishing in KraussMaffei's robot cell.

Tool innovations for mold and die manufacturing (German only)

LMT Group presented three new products at EMO 2011. See for yourself the performance offered by the new coating material Nanomold Gold for indexable inserts. Or take a look at the new SuperFinish geometry in this recording.

Coating highlights for milling and turning (German only)

TeraSpeed and Nanosilver are the two highlights from EMO 2011, referring to the segments turning an milling. Watch the recording of machining cast material. We are comparing a conventional standard tool (titanium-aluminium-nitrite coating) and the new aluminium titanium nitride coating system TeraSpeed.

Tool innovations for thread rolling

Rolling in news dimensions was the motto for the segment thread rolling at EMO 2011. The Protec power coating and the rolling system including the axial rolling head RC 4014 were the highlights. The recording demonstrates the machining of a component with different rolling systems and thread rolling with the new axial rolling head RC 4014.

Tap drilling with XChange

Specialists presented both thread segments, thread rolling and thread moulding, at EMO 2011. Watch the recording of three presentations of thread rolling. The Protec power coating, the axial rolling head RC 4014 and the tap drill XChange are being used here.
