“New” LMT France makes first appearance at DMG Roadshow
At the beginning of May the DMG Roadshow at the DMG France facility in Les Ulis near Paris demonstrated how modern tools, clamping devices and control systems can directly increase machine performance. For LMT, a DMG cooperation partner, the event marked the first step towards a unified LMT sales organization in France.
The DMG Roadshow at the DMG France facility in Les Ulis near Paris offered specialists in-depth information about solutions covering the entire production process – from tool setup to tool systems for drilling, turning, milling, gear-cutting and thread-cutting to machine development and programming. Experts from DMG, Paul Horn, LMT and other partners informed the participants in specialist lectures and practical demonstrations on a Gildemeister CTX beta 1250 TC universal turning machine.
The event has already attracted considerable attention in other countries – for example, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey and China – and will be continued. The third DMG Roadshow overall was launched at the end of April in Bielefeld with a DMC 60 FD duoBLOCK, which will also make an appearance in Les Ulis on 22 and 23 September (further details on DMG Roadshows are available at www.gildemeister.com/ino/dmg_roadshow/de/index.htm). Marc Pellegrinelli, LMT France chief executive, explains the event’s success: “If you want to maintain your market position against increasingly stiff competition, not only does production have to become more efficient and faster, but it must also produce higher quality products. The lectures and practical presentations impressively demonstrate what a key role tools have to play in this. We are therefore very pleased to be able to continue our proven partnership with DMG.”

LMT France sales unit assumes greater responsibility
At the same time, the DMG Roadshow in Paris presented LMT with an ideal opportunity to introduce its French customers to changes in its sales organization bound up with a new name: in future the LMT Group’s French sales unit will no longer be known as LMT Fette France, but as LMT France. This name change reflects developments within the LMT Group’s entire sales organization in France that have a very clear goal: giving customers direct access to sales specialists for the Group’s entire portfolio including not only tool solutions for machining modern structural materials but also cutting materials and services.
As a first step LMT France is intensifying its collaboration with the application engineers and sales specialists at LMT Belin. The Group’s French manufacturing company specializes in the production of precision tools for machining plastics, alloys and composite materials which are primarily used in the automotive, aerospace and advertising materials industries. Sales teams at LMT France and LMT Belin will initially continue to work in parallel, but steadily increase coordination. In the process, all administrative and logistics duties will be transferred to LMT Belin in Lavancia. Customers will continue to receive support from their existing LMT contacts in France, who will immediately also cover the entire product range of the LMT Group. Additionally, the closer networking of sales and engineering will ensure faster response times and improved solutions.
Entire LMT product range from one source
“This development will eventually lead to a unified sales structure under the name LMT Belin France that provides expert coverage of all LMT products. The DMG Roadshow illustrates just how the sales teams of LMT France and LMT Belin with their different know-how can benefit from one another. It is a perfect example of how effective teamwork can be between industrial partners and how that benefits customers: these are lasting competitive advantages,” explains LMT Managing Director Dr. Michael Heinrich.
