Realism and foresight: 50 years of Kieninger
It all began in Lahr-Dinglingen. Fifty years ago Walter and Johanna Kieninger set up a small workshop for cutting tools. Today LMT Kieninger is an internationally respected brand of specialized tools for demanding cutting applications. Numerous guests travelled to Lahr on 24 September this year to celebrate the company jubilee with its employees and take a look into the future.
“Only your commitment and your technical expertise has made Kieninger what it is today: a globally recognized specialist,” Regine Bengel was not sparing with her praise of the workforce during her speech for the 50th anniversary of Kieninger’s foundation. At the same time, the main shareholder of the LMT Group looked towards the future. As a company with strong roots in the region and skills that are not easily copied, Kieninger has a very solid base. Additionally, the link with LMT also presents excellent prospects for the company.

On the other hand, time researcher Professor Karlheinz Geissler underlined that moments of rest and reflection are also required. “Firms don’t need jubilees, but people do,” emphasized Geissler during the festivities. He explained that only when people have breaks can they actually complete the work in progress.
The numerous well-wishers also included Wolfgang Müller, the mayor of Lahr, and Andreas Kempff, chief executive of the Chamber of Trade and Industry. They were able to gain first-hand information about Kieninger’s current situation and future plans. For example, Volker Obergföll, managing director of Kieninger, announced additional investments worth more than four million euros over the next three years.
